Relevant polytechnic diploma in electrical engineering related fields with a good pass (55% and above), equivalent to Year 1 and Year 2 OR
Relevant overseas polytechnic diploma in electrical engineering related fields with a good pass (55% and above), equivalent to Year 1 and Year 2, with 10 years of formal education OR
Relevant PEI qualifications in electrical engineering related fields with a good pass (55% and above), equivalent to Year 1 and Year 2, with 12 years of formal education OR
Higher National Diploma (HND) in fields of electrical engineering OR
Mature candidates who possess other qualifications should be 30 years old and above with at least 8 years of relevant working experience

Meet the speaker:
Dr Tham Yieng Wei
PhD in Engineering
Head of School
MDIS School of Engineering
Dr. Tham completed Bachelor's Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical and Manufacturing System at University Malaysia Sarawak. He also pursued Master of Science in Energy and Environment at Napier University, United Kingdom (UK).
Upon completion of his master's degree, he won the studentship from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, UK to further his doctorate study. The main focus of his research was on solar radiation for the UK due to climate change. Results from his research were used in the United Kingdom Climate Projection (UKCP) to predict future weather for the UK. Furthermore, he was the programme co-ordinator of the European Education and Training on Renewable Energy Systems for Housing (ETRESH) programme for students from various European countries in the UK.
